Rule changes are listed in chronological order, as they were announced in the Subspace Times GM's Comments, with links to the specific SST issues. Unofficial notes are in brackets []. 1669 - "A change to the Lucky Module spell (idle officers will maintain/repair an otherwise unrepairable lucky module), and to plague levels (they'll increase faster) just went in."
-
1649 - "The previously announced changes involve energy yields becoming energy costs, new alien ship designs [aliens of mediocre tech and higher will usually have more modules, often a lot more, and all aliens will be carrying fewer weapons], some changes to shops and the presidency, tweaks to adventure detection [low level adventures will generally be easier to see and higher level adventures will sometimes be much harder to see; ships with 99%+ sensors will no longer be guaranteed to see all adventures in a system], and a more generous engineering favor formula are in."
-
1577 - "The mass-ratio dependent flee went in, the rules were updated, and a handful of bugfixes."
-
1574 - "The previously announced favour changes went in. Now all players favour will decay every turn. 5% for non-prophets, 2.5% for prophets, with no cutoffs below which they don't lose any."
-
1571 - "Ok, a small amount of new code went in this turn. Some alien changes (some aliens combat orders may be different than what they were, though hostile/friendy etc haven't changed). Some activities pay better then they used to, and the damage done by torpedos has doubled. Rumours in the SST are no longer set by the number of posts, but rather based on the number of active players, so there's no need to make posts that don't really say anything."
-
1569 - "The new political system went in turn. Also involved will are changes to the report from all terminals spell, and a brand new spell. The rules should be updated with the new information. Next monday a bunch of small fixes (most notably increased yields for ore, medicine, coronaspher skimming, and criminals). Along with all of these changes I'm also making changes to the internals of the TBG engine to make future changes easier, so there's the possibility of weird bugs almost anywhere (probably not, but...)...."
-
1563 - "You may or may not have noticed, but the report from new terminal spell is gone. I was planning on getting rid of it anyway, and discovered a bug with potentially annoying consequences, and just disabling it makes my life easier."
-
1542 - "Still, as of this turn, ships will not get their normal favour gain or decay at the holiday planet, nor will they get their standard energy yield or be charged crew salaries."
-
1533 - "The new jump costs will be active on the turn that runs Monday, April 16th [turn 1534]. The costs displayed in your jump menu are the new ones that you'll be charged on Monday. A jump cost calculator is available at http://tbg.fyndo.com/mapulator.html."
-
1528 - "The new chosen code will be going in this weekend [turn 1529] (when monday's turn runs, chosen will have normal breakage rates, but enhanced skill/percentage ratings)."
-
1527 - "I've changed the "new" jump cost formula in the map and jump menu, the old one was not what I intended. Also, the jump menu will no longer show jumps you can't afford."
-
1526 - "Next weekend [turn 1529], I will be implementing some new code for chosen, chosen will no longer get the +1% reliability bonus, and instead will get some new bonuses. I will also be adjusting jump costs to make longer jumps more expensive. I've implemented a javascript jump cost calculator effective this turn, that shows both the current cost, and what I'm expecting the new costs to be (the latter after the slash). The new costs will also appear in the jump menu."
