For people that have never played To Boldly Go (TBG) before, here's an Example Turn to help you get a feeling of the game.

An absolute must read is Questions, Answers & Rules. These are the rules and basic principals of how to play the game. I recommend reading them, then reading them again the next day and once more after you played the game for a few turns. It's quite well writen, so don't jump to portions, just read it top to bottom.

If you find the rules a bit tough to get through or some things are still not very clear, you should definatly read The Ultimate Guide To TBG made by Constitution. This guide explains almost everything regarding important game mechanics in an easy to read fashion and has exellent tips for starting players.

The SubSpace Times (SST) is updated every turn and full of useful information. It states a lot of what happened during the last turn. Nice shop offers and the people interaction let you get a feeling of the politics going on. Post a few things on the SST yourself once in a while, using your turn form. It's a must-read on every turn !

There's really a lot of stuff around on TBG. Don't flood yourself with information, take it at your own pace. Make sure you've read the rules. After that you might want to check out the Turnly useful Info section and Tools section as well. If you do have some spare time read a couple of the Player Guides below.

And please don't be ashamed to hail others, it is still the most used communication method in this universe.
